Surely you have heard about eucalyptus or have used it, since it has many benefits and this is due to the balsamic, antiseptic, expectorant and sudoriferous properties of its leaves that are used to heal respiratory tracts, making it famous for this.

Eucalyptus is a tree native to Australia and Tazmania, which is cultivated throughout the world. It is in this way that its leaves and essential oil (eucalyptol) have been used for therapeutic purposes for many years.

It is undoubtedly a plant known for the numerous qualities that its aroma provides, but also for all the health benefits it provides.

Benefits of eucalyptus and its medicinal uses:

    1. On the hair : relieves dryness and itching of the scalp. Use eucalyptus-based shampoos and rinse creams.
    2. Emotional stimulant : Thanks to the powerful balsamic aroma of its leaves, it provides comforting and relaxing sensations. In addition, it stimulates the senses and clears the mind. For this reason, it is one of those chosen by aromatherapy.
    3. Fights cough : Eucalyptus tea (3 teaspoons of leaves in 1/4 liter of water) reduces the formation of mucus in the bronchi and makes secretions more fluid. In addition, it helps combat coughs and feverish states, due to its balsamic and stimulating properties.
    4. It is a stimulant : It is a bronchodilator (dilates and relaxes the bronchi to allow proper air flow).
    5. Healing power : When used externally, it heals wounds and skin diseases such as eczema.
    6. Expectorant : The oil, diluted for internal use or in mists, has an expectorant property (removes excess mucus from the respiratory tract) and relieves throat and larynx conditions; in addition to being an antiseptic for the respiratory tract. In this modality, it can also be combined with lime and chamomile.
    7. For diabetics : Its infused leaves help reduce blood sugar. It is recommended to use it without excess, no more than one cup of infusion per day.
    8. Anti-parasitic : Both the decoction of the leaves and the essential oil expel intestinal parasites.
    9. Disinfectant property : The essential oil is used in the treatment of lice infections.
    10. Urinary tract antiseptic : Helps fight or prevent infections, inhibiting the growth and reproduction of bacteria, fungi and viruses that cause them. One to two drops of essential oil should be taken twice a day as a urinary tract antiseptic.
    11. To purify the air : It is widely used to purify the air and as an insect repellent.
    12. Muscular and skeletal conditions : as a relaxant and analgesic. For muscle conditions, rub with four drops of essential oil in 100cc of sweet almond oil. It should be rubbed twice a day on the affected areas.
    13. It is anti-viral and antibacterial so it protects us from various infections: when it comes to killing bacteria, eucalyptus is strong.
